History & History Related Items

Settled in 1849, Pleasant Grove originally was known as Battle Creek because of a skirmish between the settlers and Ute Indians. It was later renamed after a nearby grove of trees. It was founded on 13 September 1850 with just a small group of settlers. It was incorporated as a town on 18 January 1855. Points of interest include Native American trails winding through Grove Creek and Battle Creek canyons.
