Oak Grove history:

The area was first settled by three brothers from Kentucky in 1866. In 1873, they named their new post office Oak Grove because of all the Oak Trees in the area. The railroad came in 1885, but the routes were discontinued in about twenty years. After the post office closed in 1901, the town stayed very small.
