Between mid-March and early May, Brenham is the HEART of the bluebonnet region! A wide range of wildflowers blooms during this time, and a Scenic & Historic Driving Route exists. Tour the oldest continual Baptist church in Texas. The Rev. Paul Sevar is a gracious host and will arrange personal tours for groups by appointment. The impressive standing columns and ruins of the original site of Baylor College are close by.

Antique Rose Emporium

This is a delightful destination in itself. The Antique Rose Emporium is a nursery, gift shop and display garden created by horticulturist and proprietor Michael Shoup. Selection includes rare antique roses, perennial herbs, gifts and garden-related items.

Hours: M - F 10 am - 3 pm Reservations recommended;The "little creamery in Brenham" is a popular stop for visitors. You can tour the business that made this town famous and enjoy samples in its old-fashioned ice cream shop. Groups of 15 or more require reservations.

Ellison's Greenhouses
1808 S. Horton St.
Hours: M - F 9 am - 5 pm, Sat 9 am - 3:30 pm.
Call 979-836-0084 for tour information. Ellison's is a breathtaking, working greenhouse located on 5 acres at two sites. Ellison's is famous for its annual poinsettia production, but also features year-round blooms. Tours are available by appointment.

1960's
Music and dancing played an important part of the social life ofBrenham Texas in the 1960's. Roy Head and the Traits, FreddyKoenig and the Jades, and B J Thomas and the Triumphs were amongthe live bands that played Brenham and the near-by dance halls.Some of the singers and bands are still active in the 1990's.See Fred Koenig's Website for more information.
