The Descendants of Thomas Weatherly - This city was named around 1840 after my ancestor, David WEATHERLY, who was a master clockmaker and railroad executive. He told the community he would make them a town clock if they would change the name of the town to WEATHERLY. They did, but he never did build the clock, but left mysteriously.
