The nickname for Knox, Horse Thief Capital of the World is a unique one but the whole story is not entirely known. Apparently there used to be a famous gang of horse thieves that lived in our area. They would steal the horses and paint them to change their appearance, then resell them. Therefore, the nickname was coined.
