It is a history of entrepreneurs whose inventions literally paved the way for the inventions of the automobile, motorcycle, and airplanes. Did you know that Henry Ford started his mechanical career as a bicycle mechanic? Or that the first cars and airplanes were made out of bicycle parts? Or that Susan B. Anthony said that the bicycle was the single most valuable invention for advancement of the liberation of women? Or that World War II relied on bicycles to get paratroopers quickly out of the line of fire after landing in both Europe and in the Far Eastern battle zones?
