Here is a history page for Eden.

The first settler in the area which was to become Eden was Deacon Samuel Tubbs. Eden was named for the four Dutch brothers who owned stock in the Holland Land Purchase. In 1811, the area was known as Tubbs Hollow. A gristmill was built and the community began to thrive. The next name for the town was Hill's Corners by which it was known until 1822.
