Buchanan is a beautiful, small town located along the St. Joseph River, and having several creeks that run through town. The town itself was built over the creeks.

During the Industrial Revolution, Clark Equipment had the majority of their business in Buchanan. It has since moved south, but the people who helped to build Clark's decided to remain and keep the town going.

RedBud Track & Trail - National Motorcross Racetrack

Pear's Mill - The only fully-operational grist mill located in this area of the country.

Fernwood Botanical Gardens - A beautiful nature preserve and botanical garden, open year-round. Tours are provided for groups, and workshops are conducted on a regular basis. It also contains a gift shop, and a cafe serving delicious homemade soups and sandwiches.

Notre Dame University and Stadium is located 15 miles from Buchanan, and Chicago is less than 90 miles away, making this small town perfect for those who want to live in peace, but still attend cultural and sports events within a short driving distance.

Lake Michigan is 20 miles away, with open beaches at Warren Dunes State Park in New Buffalo.

Southwestern University, Lake Michigan College, St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Andrew's University and Holy Cross Junior College are all within short driving distances from Buchanan.

Snite Museum of Art, on the Notre Dame Campus, and the South Bend Art & Cultural Center are located within 20 miles of town. The Chicago Museum of Art is less than 100 miles away.
