Just like in the home town paper, your local news items can be published., But, this publication will go around the world. Tell everyone about Kari's great report card, or Kent's latest discovery. How about your vacation, or how your child's baseball team is doing. Maybe Grandma and Grandpa on the other side of the country would like to know how everyone is doing in Berwick.

Searching for info on my Great-Grandfather
I am searching for information about my great-grandfather, Cornelius Auensen. He came from Norway in the 1860's with two friends, a Hansen and a Thorgesen. Cornelius married Marie Ophelia Falgout, March 19, 1874, Sacred Heart Church. He owned a tailor shop in Morgan City and played the trumpet in the Morgan City Brass Band. The 1870 Louisiana Census states Cornelius was 37 years old. Family stories indicate that he died in a hunting accident around age 40 to 44. Ophelia later married Victor Gourner.
Anyone having any information about Cornelius and wishing to share, please contact me.
Many thanks and best regards,
Peggy Auenson Veeder

Can you help with this genealogy?
I am looking for information about my ancestors - the Evans, Brown and Horton Families, also the Ditch family.
Lou Horton married Clinton (Dude) Evans. They were my father's parents. My father mentioned that he was cousins to some of the Ditch family. My name is Judy Evans. I am in Port Arthur, Texas. I have done years of research. I have traveled to Indiana and Louisiana. My grandmother's family (Horton's) came from Troy, Vermont. She was raised in Berwick, Louisiana. I was told she was born there too, but can't find any proof. Her birth name was Louvisie Horton. Her mother was Mary Armatine Ditch and her mother was A.F. Brown. I do not know not know which - the Ditch's or the Brown's - came from Troy, Vermont. My grandfather DeWitt (Dude) Clinton Evans went down the Mississippi River on a steam ship as an entertainer. He sang and danced. He met my grandmother in Berwick, Louisiana where the ship stopped. (Moegan City) I found this out through a cousin Dad and I met when traveling and researching.
The surname, Brown, was my grandmother's, Lou (Horton) Evans' grandmother. All I have on her is A.F. Brown and that the name came from England. The name Horton is Dutch.
I thought maybe if someone reads this that would know something, they could email me with the information.
Many thanks,
Judy Evans
