2007, July 29
Collinsville, Illinois has been known for its 170 foot tall water tower that is called the World’s largest Catsup Bottle. Now they are trying for a new record – the world’s largest Catsup packet! The people of Collinsville banded together to help raise money for the Collinsville Christian Academy. They had a fire that damaged the school. The 8 foot tall and 4 foot wide plastic pouch packet was filled yesterday, July 28. It held 1,500 pounds of catsup! Individual bottles of catsup were donated by the H.J. Heinz Co. The packet will remain in Collinsville for a time and will then be sent to the Heinz Co. headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The event will be submitted to the Guinness World Records.
