The Axe Murders of 1912
On June 10, 1912 a small rural Midwestern community awoke to discover eight of their own, two adults and six children, had been
murdered with an axe while they slept.
The brutal crime was never solved
and the mystery and its effects linger there today.

The Villisca Community Schools are located in Southwest Iowa in Montgomery County. The school is part of the Corner Conference. Around 465 students attend the Villisca Community School District.
In the year 2000, the Villisca High School building was replaced with a new one story building. The old building was built in 1913 and added to in 1926.
