Pictured Rocks Park
Jones County parks
Pictured Rocks park is located just south of Monticello (three miles south on Hwy 38 then one to two miles east). The drive into the park will take you down between the cliffs that surround the Maquoketa River. The river, cliffs, and caves help to give Pictured Rocks its name. You can see the work that the river has done over the past hundreds of years as it carved its way through the rock and limestone. The park includes restroom facilities, picnic shelters, picnic tables, and a boat loading ramp. There are trails and caves for those who wish to explore. The wildlife and picturesque river make this park very unique.
