Groveland Historical Events

1983, May
Groveland High School Football field
Almost 20 years ago a small 12th grade class of 96 took their first steps to adulthood by accepting their high school diplomas. Groveland High School class of 1983 was leaving the nest. With its many teachers, faculty and students, Groveland High School was saying "good luck" to these young men and women that were embarking on what we now know as life. Looking back, I can remember the way I felt when I walked across the track to finally to receive the certificate that would allow me to see the world in a whole new light. The feeling of accomplishment that I felt at that time when our beloved Principle Mr. Gray shook my hand was overwhelming. I could tell he was very proud of us all. Remembering back, I didn't really know what I was in store for, but I always knew that I would have to do something that made a difference.
