wonderful! There is generally low humidity, even in summer. The temperature rarely falls below 40 degrees in the winter, making it a great place to spend the winter. Most of the rain falls between December and March.

Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo landed here in 1542 to claim the land for Spain. The first of the California missions, Mission San Diego de Alcala, established by Father Junipero Serra, was built here in 1769. San Diego has fourished under Spanish, Mexican and American flags.

The well-known and well-used 1,200 acre Balboa Park was built as a result of two international expositions here in San Diego in 1915 and 1936.
