Attractions

Alma proclaims itself to be the Spinach Capital of the World and holds a Spinach Festival each year in april. There is an 8-ft tall statue of Popeye here in the town. Alma happens to be the company town for Popeye Brand Spinach. A friendly rivalry exists between Crystal City, Texas and Alma, Arkansas as they are both proclaimed the "Spinach Capital of the World" by their residents.

The Barrow Gang in Arkansas - specifically, the robbery which eventually killed the city marshall, Mr. H. D. Humphrey. It is not certain that the gang performed this specific robbery, but seem to be somehow connected to the entire ordeal. Read all the details on the above page.
